October is a fun month; anticipation for the holiday season has already begun for Joe and me. This will be our first holiday season together as a family and I am very excited! The holidays seem to be more fun when children are involved. Friday Oct. 14 Joe and I took the kids to Black Island Farms for Halloween fun. Black Island Farms is a working farm of 257 acres. In the Fall the owners of the farm set up a play ground, a few different slides made out of hay bales, a bounce house, animal alley, corn mazes, a haunted house, and a hayride that includes a ride to a huge pumpkin patch. Everyone on the ride gets to pick a pumpkin to take home. The kids ran wild and had a blast; Joe and I enjoyed ourselves as well. As soon as we got into the car to head home the kids fell asleep. I think Diego may have been in mid sentence when he fell asleep.
Saturday afternoon we carved our fantastic pumpkins.
The finished creations!
In order from the left: Diego, Joe, Jill, Macsen, Krista.
Joe carved both of our pumpkins while I separated the seeds from the goop. Yuck!
Before carving the children drew patterns of their pumpkins on paper. I'm very proud of how creative and unique they all are.
