I consider these past few years of canning food practice for whats to come. Joseph and I eventually will have several fruit trees and a fabulous vegetable garden, which means we're going to have a lot of food to preserve. I have a feeling we'll be supplying our family and friends with a lot of produce in the coming years; another reason we want a self-sustaining homestead.
Our preservation list this year:
- Apricot Jam
- Cherry/Prune Jam
- Grape Jam
- Salsa
- Tomatoes
- Spiced Peaches
- Peach Butter
- Applesauce
- Apple Butter
Not a bad list for amateur homesteaders!
