Fun with Burlap and Pine Cones!

Yesterday I felt like doing something creative with the pine branches and pines cones we collected for our Thanksgiving tablescape, so I put together this terrarium-like decoration.

I placed the pine branches and some pine cones across the top of our bookshelves that line our living room picture windows, and filled this glass container with the rest of the pine cones and some smaller cuts of pine branches.  Using a couple of the burlap strips from our Thanksgiving tablescape, I sewed a stitch down the center and then pulled the stitch tight, gathering the burlap into pretty ruffles.
