With a Bachelor’s
degree in art from Brigham Young University, a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking
from Utah State University, and 15 years of book binding and restoration
experience, Joseph Adams proves to have a strong background in the arts, book
binding, restoration and conservation.
Having worked two
years at the Utah State University Library Special Collections department and having
taught drawing, painting, printmaking, and art history over four years at Western
Texas College, Joseph possesses the knowledge and skills to apply period
accurate aesthetics and materials to his restoration and conservation projects.
With a special
interest, education, and experience in copper engraving, a skill so few possess,
Joseph also enjoys making stamping tools, metal dies, and other hardware such
as clasps to aid with his restoration and conservation projects. It’s clear that true skill and craftsmanship is
evident in all of Joseph’s projects.
After working at
Restoration Books in Logan Utah as the principal bench worker for three years,
Joseph has decided to independently open his own bindery, restoration, and
conservation studio in Plano Texas. It
is with great excitement and determination that Joseph is pleased to preserve
and restore your precious and treasured rare books.
