There is a myth that is said; if you leave bird feeders out in winter, birds won't fly south and they will die! Fact is there are birds that fly south for the winter and birds that don't. My backyard is proof that not all birds fly south for the winter. Our chickens have new friends hanging out with them during the day and the ladies are more then happy to share their feed. Because we have new feathered friends visiting for the cold winter season, we thought it would be fun for the kids to make bird feeders, and so we did. We made two kinds of feeders: Ornament feeders and feeder bowls made from orange halves. They turned out pretty cute and the kids had fun making them and hanging them in our trees. Take a look!
